Starbucks Unionization

Starbucks, especially in the United States, has done much to prevent the unionization of its ‘partners’, referring to their store-level employees. The first Starbucks to become unionized was in Buffalo, NY, which sparked a fire in which more than 50 stores have become unionized, with California getting its first two a week or two ago. The push for unionization came primarily as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, in which workers mattered more, but were underpaid and under trained.
