I know that the big conglomerate that is Starbucks today started out as but a few stores under the leadership of its legendary CEO, but specifically, I never knew where the first Starbucks was. While watching Grey’s Anatomy, which is set in Seattle, WA, my boyfriend pointed out in the background a huge line leading to a Starbucks at the Pike Place Market. The reason for the line? Because it is the original Starbucks, the first ever store opened in 1971. Of course this historic location would be packed—I’m probably not used to seeing such lines since I often order online and skip it entirely.
