Kahlua Coffee Liqueur

We already know there’s a myriad of ways to use coffee, be it in deserts, countless beverages, or even beers, coffee is also deliciously made into liqueur (alcohol spirit infused with flavor), an unholy covenant of the world’s most popular substances. Whereas the caffeine in coffee is a stimulant, ethanol is a depressant. Kahlua is the most popular coffee liqueur around the world (though it’s far from being the only one). Kahlua contains coffee (duh), rum, and sugar, and is 20% ABV like any other liqueur, so it can be enjoyed plain.

White Russian – Vodka, cream/milk, and Kahlua.

Nevertheless, Kahlua is often used in a White Russian, a cocktail made with vodka, coffee liqueur and cream (or milk) served in ice. Its uses don’t stop there, as it goes great in iced coffee, and works as a topping for various desserts as well as being used in baked goods. Kahlua’s website provides great ideas for making your own cocktails. The versatile Kahlua even has countless other flavors of itself. It’s so simple you could even make your own coffee liqueur if you have the patience for it.
