When we think of coffee as something edible, we think immediately about it as a liquid for us to drink. But what about eating coffee? Roasted coffee beans smell really good, are small, and really easy to crush with your teeth like as if it were a peanut. By itself, coffee beans don’t really taste great. However, it is easy to find chocolate coated coffee beans to snack on; they can even be used whole in some desserts. But just because you can eat it, does it mean it is safe to do so, especially if you plan to consume quite a bit of coffee beans? Turns out there’s no limit, aside from moderating your caffeine levels, as a number of beans, perhaps 20, contains roughly 200mg of caffeine (2 cups of coffee or 1 Monster energy can).
