We almost always think Starbucks as just a café and seller of coffee, but Starbucks really likes making food too. You’ve likely been tempted by the delicious smells of their breakfast options, such as a turkey bacon cheddar and egg sandwich.
Starbucks has planned and acted to become sustainable, cycling out plastic, conserving water, and now reducing food waste. Starbucks food options are often set out on display; as display food, it’s normally not meant to be eaten, so at the end of the day, it gets tossed. While Starbucks has yet to cycle out their display food, they have at least pledged $100 million (over 10 years) to food hunger.
