Latin (Cuban) Espresso: Cafe la Llava

I was wandering around my college’s pantry, and I stumbled on a bag of Cafe la Llava Espresso Ground Coffee. As the name implies, it is finely ground and ideal for use in making Espresso coffee, though it can be used in conventional methods to make a stronger brew of coffee.

The coffee company has roots in Cuba and have settled in California as a result of the Cuban Revolution. Cuban espresso beverages are often referred to as cafecito, Café Cubano or coladas (not to be confused with pina colada), which in essence is Cuban espresso mixed with sugar. I used the coffee grounds in my trusty drip coffee maker, and the results definitely were great; a strong, toasty, and robust flavor.
