It’s not surprising that coffee, like many other resources, are experiencing price increases and shortages, as it demand is rather high as America is recovering from the pandemic. Coffee is currently $2 a pound; it previously was just a little over $1 a pound.
It’s reached the highest prices it has since 2011, whose peak pricing was an insane $3 a pound, due to bad harvests that year. Another major factor is Vietnam, a major producer of Robusta beans, locking down due to COVID-19.
